Responsible Research and Innovation

An online Moodle course provides an introduction to Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). By the end of the course, CDT students will be able to:

  • Understand the principles of Responsible Research & Innovation (RRI)
  • Identify the need for RRI with respect to new research and technology
  • Reflect on the role and responsibilities of researchers within society
  • Summarise the separate elements of Anticipate, Reflect, Engage and Act
  • Apply the AREA framework for RRI to assess potential implications of a research project
  • Understand how to appraise new research / technologies from an RRI perspective

The RRI training is aimed at CDT students in their first year.
