Please note that the internship programmes in the School of the Physical Sciences (SPS) and the School of Technology (SoT) will be renamed and we will run two separate application processes in 2026.
All other arrangements will remain, with eight week placements on offer, free accommodation at a college and payment at the Real Living Wage.

Summer 2025 - STEM Widening Participation Research Internship Programme
The Schools of the Physical Sciences and Technology are inviting current undergraduate students to apply for an eight-week paid internship which will take place in the summer of 2025.
Open to all students who meet the essential and widening participation criteria, our STEM WP Research Internships are residential with an opportunity to undertake an eight week research project in one of our departments.
Practical training sessions that include CV writing, presentation skills and preparing applications for postgraduate courses also form a vital part of the programme with centrally organised social activities providing an opportunity to interact with interns across the University.
Interns will be paid the real living wage and free college accommodation will be provided.

School of Technology internships will start on Monday 7 July 2025, ending Friday 29 August 2025.
School of the Physical Sciences internships start a week later on Monday 14 July 2025, ending Friday 5 September 2025.
